Every pregnancy is different. The right checklist helps mothers stay organized, notice warning signs early, and prepare confidently for delivery with doctor guidance.

1. Book Your First Pregnancy Visit Early

As soon as pregnancy is confirmed, it is helpful to consult a gynecologist. The first visit helps the doctor understand your health history, confirm pregnancy status, review medicines, and guide you about supplements, early reports, and follow-up visits.

Carry These During Your First Visit:

  • Pregnancy test result
  • Last menstrual period date
  • Previous medical reports
  • Current medicine details

2. Regular Antenatal Checkups

Antenatal checkups help monitor both mother and baby health. During checkups, the doctor may review weight, blood pressure, symptoms, reports, baby growth, scan findings, diet, medicines, and pregnancy progress.

3. Important Reports & Sonography

Specific scans and blood tests are needed at different stages to check baby development and mother’s wellness.

Key Diagnostic Milestones:

  • ? Early Scan: Confirms pregnancy location and heartbeat.
  • ? NT Scan (11-13 weeks): Checks for early development markers.
  • ? Anomaly Scan (18-20 weeks): Detailed check of baby's organs.
  • ? Growth Scan: Monitors baby's weight and fluid in later stages.

4. Warning Signs to Watch For

While most pregnancies progress smoothly, it is important to contact your doctor immediately if you notice:

  • Sudden vaginal bleeding or leaking fluid.
  • Severe abdominal pain or persistent headache.
  • Sudden swelling of hands, face, or feet.
  • Noticeable decrease in baby’s movements.
  • High fever or persistent vomiting.
